Installation, Service & Repairs

Installation, service & repairs

A sign is not finished when it leaves the shop. Our own crew installs it, and our own crew comes back when a lamp goes or a storm moves something.

What it is

We install what we build. That sounds obvious and it is increasingly unusual — plenty of sign companies sell you a sign and subcontract the install to whoever is cheapest that week. When the crew that mounts it is the crew that made it, they know how it was meant to go up, and there is no argument later about whose responsibility something is.

Service is the other half. Signs need lamps, they need cleaning, they need the occasional panel replaced after a storm or a delivery truck. Hours change, phone numbers change, a business gets sold and the name on the front has to follow. Our small local crew handles all of that on-site, and much of it on signs we did not originally build.

That includes inherited signs — the lit cabinet that came with the building, the neon that has been dark since before you took the lease, the post sign leaning after a hard winter. Send us a photograph and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or whether you would be better off replacing it.

Materials & construction

How we build it

Installation

Wall, post, roof and pylon installs, with the right access equipment for the height.

Re-lamping & electrical

Failed LED modules, ballasts, power supplies and neon transformers replaced.

Panel & face changes

New copy, updated hours, replacement faces, and tenant changes on existing cabinets.

Storm & impact repair

Straightening, re-mounting and repairing after weather or vehicle damage.

Step 01Look at it

A site visit or a clear photograph tells us most of what we need to know before quoting.

Step 02Honest assessment

We say plainly whether a repair is worthwhile or whether replacement is the better spend.

Step 03Schedule

Booked around your trading hours where the work would otherwise disrupt business.

Step 04Fix & verify

Work completed, tested — including after dark for anything lit — and the site left clean.

Common questions

Install & Service FAQs

Yes, routinely. A large share of our service work is on signs we did not make. Re-lamping, transformer replacement, face changes and repairs are all things we handle regardless of who originally built it.

Most often a power supply, ballast or transformer rather than the lamps or LED modules themselves. If part of the sign lights and part does not, it is usually a single supply or a wiring fault. Either way it is generally a repair rather than a replacement.

Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do. Depending on how the sign is built that might be a new vinyl overlay, a replacement panel or a new face. It is usually inexpensive and quick.

Yes. We have the access equipment for typical commercial building heights and we handle wall, roof and pylon installs. For genuinely tall or awkward installs we bring in the right lift for the site.

It depends on the current schedule and how urgent the situation is — a dark sign on a restaurant heading into a weekend gets treated differently from routine maintenance. Call 413-774-5663 and we will tell you honestly when we can get to you.
