Half your trading day in a New England winter happens after dark. An illuminated sign is not decoration — it is the difference between being open and looking closed.
What it is
Channel letters are individual fabricated letters, each one a small box with its own LED modules, wired back to a remote power supply. Done well, they are the most legible night-time sign there is: every letter is its own light source, so the word holds its shape instead of blooming into a glowing rectangle.
The variable that decides whether they still look good in year six is the LED and the power supply, not the aluminium. We use modules rated for the temperature swings this valley actually sees, and we mount power supplies where they can be reached without dismantling the sign. That matters when something eventually fails, because something eventually does.
Where channel letters are not the right fit — a tenant panel, a drive-through, a sign that needs a changeable face — a lit cabinet with a translucent printed face does the same job for less. We build both, and we will tell you which your site wants rather than quoting whichever is more profitable.

Quality modules are rated in the range of 50,000 hours, which for a sign running dusk to close is many years. Failures, when they happen, are usually a power supply rather than the modules themselves — which is exactly why we mount supplies where they can be reached.
The final connection to building power must be made by a licensed electrician, and the sign needs a dedicated circuit and disconnect. We coordinate with your electrician or bring one in, and we handle everything on the sign side of that connection.
Yes, and we do it constantly — including signs we did not build. Failed modules, dead power supplies, water ingress, cracked faces and dead neon transformers are all routine work for us.
Channel letters are individual illuminated letters mounted directly to the wall — cleaner, more premium, more legible. A cabinet is a single lit box with a printed or routed face — cheaper per square foot, easier to change, and the sensible choice where tenant names change.
Many towns restrict illumination type, brightness, and hours of operation rather than banning lit signs outright. We check the current bylaw for your address and design within it — including specifying a timer or dimming where that is what the bylaw asks for.
