Custom Design & Graphics

Custom design & graphics

Design that only works on a screen is not finished. We draw for the material it is going to be made from — because we are the ones who then have to make it.

What it is

A surprising number of the businesses that come to us have a logo that cannot be fabricated. It was drawn at postage-stamp size, or it only exists as a low-resolution image lifted off a website, or it has a hairline detail that disappears entirely at six feet. Making it into a sign means redrawing it properly first.

We do that redraw as a matter of course. Artwork gets rebuilt as clean vector so it scales to a building façade without softening, colours get specified against real vinyl and paint rather than screen values, and details that will not survive at size get thickened or simplified — carefully, so it still reads as your mark.

For businesses starting from nothing, we develop the identity itself: mark, wordmark, colours and typography, designed with an eye on the sign it will eventually become. Working with a shop that fabricates means the design never gets handed off to someone who has to explain why it cannot be built.

Materials & construction

How we build it

Logo development

Original marks and wordmarks designed with fabrication in mind from the first sketch.

Vector redraw

Existing artwork rebuilt as clean vector so it scales to any size without going soft.

Colour specification

Colours matched to actual vinyl, paint and print output rather than to a screen.

Fabrication-ready files

Cut paths, layer separations and production files that go straight to the plotter or router.

Step 01Understand the use

Where this mark has to work — building, van, window, print — decides how it should be drawn.

Step 02Draw & refine

Concepts developed, then reviewed at the size they will actually be seen.

Step 03Proof at scale

You see it on your building or vehicle before anything is cut.

Step 04Release files

You get production-ready vector artwork you own and can take anywhere.

Common questions

Design & Graphics FAQs

Usually not directly. Web images are low resolution and go soft the moment they are enlarged. We redraw them as vector artwork, which is a routine job and often much less expensive than people expect. Send whatever you have and we will tell you what is involved.

Yes. Artwork we develop for you is yours, and we release production-ready vector files so you can use them with any printer or supplier. We are not interested in holding your logo hostage.

Yes. Bring us a printed piece, a vehicle, an existing sign or a Pantone reference and we match to real material output. Screen colours are not a reliable target — what matters is what the vinyl and paint actually do.

Detail that reads perfectly on a business card can vanish at building scale, and thin strokes that print fine may be impossible to cut or carve. We adjust weights and simplify where necessary while keeping the mark recognisably yours.
