Why a Wrapped Van Outperforms Most Local Advertising

14 April 2026 · Vehicle Graphics

Your van is already your best billboard

It sits outside every job, drives every route, and parks on every Main Street. The only question is whether it says anything.

Most small businesses in Franklin County already own the most cost-effective advertising space available to them. It is parked outside right now. A service van covers the same routes every week, sits outside customers’ houses for hours at a time, and parks in the middle of town at lunch. The only variable is whether it carries your name.

The economics are unlike anything else in local marketing. A wrap is a single cost with no recurring spend — no monthly placement, no per-impression rate, no renewal. A vehicle in regular daily use around a county this size accumulates a very large number of views over the five to seven years good cast film lasts, and every one of them is in the area you actually serve.

There is a second effect that is harder to measure and possibly more valuable. An unmarked van reads as anonymous. A properly lettered one reads as an established business with something to lose — which matters a great deal when the person seeing it is deciding whether to let you into their home.

You do not need a full wrap to get most of this. Clean cut lettering on the doors and rear, with your name, trade and phone number at a size that can be read from the car behind, does the bulk of the work. Partial wraps sit in between, concentrating printed graphics on the rear quarters and doors where they get seen in traffic.

What matters more than coverage is legibility. The single most common mistake is a design that looks excellent on a screen and is unreadable at thirty feet — too many words, too much detail, a phone number in a light weight. We design vehicle graphics to be read from a moving car, because that is where they are read from.
